Smells like LOVE...

Last night as we were getting in bed...this is what took place...

Keyton (age 8): (giving me a goodnight kiss) "Mommy, you smell sweet, kinda like chocolate..."

Me: I explained that I had not had any chocolate...

Garrison (age 4): "Let me smell..." Then after he kissed my cheek...he calmly and oh-so-matter-of-factly said... "Smells like LOVE to me!"

Keyton: (raising up out of the bed) "That is the best LINE I have ever heard! This kid must be a genius!"

Keyton just kept gushing about how smart and cute it was for Garrison to think of that! All Garrison could do was lay there and try to hide a smile. He was trying not to show how proud he was to be bragged on so much! These boys of mine....PRECIOUS!!! I am so lucky that I get to be their MOMMY!!!! I thank GOD every day for blessing me with them!!!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend filled with beautiful weather and 3 egg hunts! The boys begged for suits to wear for Easter so I finally gave in and let them get them Friday night. They picked out very cute ones and could not wait to get home and try them out. Keyton thought they looked like lawyers and needed to have their pictures made in the courtroom. Garrison thought they looked like preachers! The sweetest moment came when I finished getting Garrison's jacket buttoned up. Ketyon had not been looking because he was too busy getting himself ready. When he looked up and saw Garrison all dressed up, his eyes almost popped out of his head! He said "Garrison you are always cute but right now you are the prettiest thing I have ever seen in my entire life!" Garrison just smiled and said "Thanks!" It was so cute. Keyton could not stop staring at him! Then when they were both dressed, they stared at each other! They got many compliments at church Sunday. Everyone was chasing us down to brag on them. We had a wonderful Easter and I am so blessed that I got to spend the weekend with family, friends, and a wonderful church family!

Easter Egg Contest: 2nd Grade

So, it is time again for the school's annual Easter Egg decorating contest! This is such a fun event. They changes the rules just a little this time to say that all entries must be only ONE egg only. In the past there have been massive displays of eggs and they decided it would be easier to limit the entries. That was fine with us. So, Keyton came up with his entry all by himself: he wanted to create an ice cream cone! All we did was glue the styrofoam egg to the inside of a real cone. Next, we had to create something to make it look like it had been dipped in chocolate. I took Mod Podge and added food coloring. I never could get it dark enough to look like chocolate so we changed our mind and went with the concept of caramel! He dipped his "cone in it and then we tapped it a few times to give it the drippy look. He wanted to add something to the top so he decided to use a red pom pom for the cherry effect! So cute! Now, not to be left out...Garrison had to have one JUST LIKE IT! He took his to Aggie School (my mom's house) to be judged. He won due to no other entries! LOL He told Keyton he would probably win 3rd place at school and guess what? Keyton won 3rd place!!! We were super excited! He has never placed in the egg competition before and there were many many entries! We love doing this and are looking forward to it next year!!!

I cannot believe that my baby boys is already FOUR YEARS OLD!!! Where has the time gone? He is such a little sweetheart. He gives me countless hugs and kisses and always thinks of his big brother everywhere he goes. He want to make sure Keyton gets something if he does. He definitely has a big heart of gold!!! He is also so funny and is always cracking us up with the things he can think of! Keyton thinks he is going to be a genius! He really didn't get to have a "normal party" this year because he didn't know what he wanted to do and several of his little buddies were busy during this time, so he decided he wanted to have a birthday celebration that lasted for several days! So...that is what we did! We started out with a family party at a restaurant in town. The next day involved going shopping for presents. This is where he got to spend some of his birthday money and swipe his gift card! That was a big treat! The next day him and Keyton played all day with the toys and we had to go to another birthday party for Dana's boss, so he got to eat cake again and then we were off to our regular Saturday night hangout...the auction...where he snagged a cool guitar cd rack. Finally, today...which is his actual BIRTHDAY...we went to church where it was birthday Sunday and stopped at a restaurant in town where he was treated to another cake with ice cream. All week he had been saying he wanted ice cream rubbed on his nose like his daddy got last year on his birthday at a Mexican restaurant we went to. So, after he got his cake and ice cream treat at the restaurant, I rubbed some on his nose! It made him SO HAPPY! He said he had been waiting all week for somebody to do that!!! Funny boy!!! After we got home, I let him open a few more gifts so he would have a few SURPRISES for his birthday. We then enjoyed the beautidul day outside for a while. I thanks GOD for giving me the honor to be this sweet little guy's mommy! Happy Birthday Sweet Garrison! I love you so much!!!

My Valentine...

Today is our 12th anniversary!

We were married on February 14, 1998.

Twelve years ago today, I married my Valentine!

Like all marriages, we have had our ups and downs,

but I am so glad I have him in my life!

Our greatest accomplishments are our two boys!

They are OUR Valentines!!!

I love my husband and our great life we have built together!

Cowboy Day...&...Knight Day...

Today was Cowboy Day in 2nd grade. When Garrison found out last night that Keyton would be dressing up, he immediately declared that it would also be Knight Day at Aggie School! He is so funny! Keyton was a good big brother and helped him gather some stuff to wear. They came up with quite a collection of stuff! They both looked so cute this morning...sleepy...but cute! They both had a great dress up day. They are so much fun! I am so lucky to have them!!!

Huge snow!

Well, we have had alot of now but this one really takes the cake! I think this is the biggest snow the boys have ever seen! We are loving it!!! t boys have wanted to stay out in it but it is way too cold for me to let them. We have played alot though. Dana got our handy dandy feed trough out again and took me and the boys for a ride behind the four-wheeler. They didn't like it as much as I did, so they got off to play in the snow and Dana pulled me some more. He seemed to have too much fun slinging me around the field!!! I loved it though! Then, I helped the boys construct a snowman! It turned out pretty cute. They named it...Snowman! So funny! We have had so much fun being at home together during all of these snow days! We are getting a l lazy, but it is still so much fun just being at home together!!! We LOVE snow!!!!!

So....since we are stranded at home and loving every minute of it...we decided to have EVEN MORE fun together. The Asberry clan came over and we had a sledding adventure! Before they got here, I prepared vegetable soup and potato soup to have for when we were finished! The boys said we were like the Three Bears waiting for it to cool! :-) We went out in front of our house and had so much fun on all of our hills. This was the first time the boys had ever gotten to do this! They were very brave! I had the most fun on our "redneck" sled...a feed trough! We don't own a sled so that was Dana's idea and it was a Great One! Tammy, Christopher, & Dana took turns pulling us around! I loved that part even though my knees and behind did not...our land is a little too rocky! The boys liked the plain sleds the best, but they like the small hills! Poor little Garrison got cold and had to go in with Dana to get warm. Keyton took this chance to try to go up a little farther. He did a good job. Shortly after Garrison went in...we all decided to end the sliding and go have some warm soup! Just call me Goldilocks...because I tested the temperature of it...and it was JUST RIGHT! It really hit the spot! Afterwards, the kids all wanted ICE CREAM so me Tammy, & Christopher had to make a run for blizzards, ice cream, shakes, and splits....Brrr...What a time to eat ice cream! We had a fabulous day and now the boys want to sled EVERYDAY! Uh-Oh!

Movie Time!

We are LOVING our extended vacation! We have not been to school since December 18, 2009! WooHoo! We did have classes ONE day but due to the fact that me and the boys had a virus...we missed that day! So...we have almost forgotten what school even is! :-) We have really enjoyed this snow and the boys have just been itching to get in it! So after the virus left the house...we got to play! They had so much fun! They really wanted to build a snowman, but it is a powdery type of snow and it didn't work out. So, they made snow angels, threw it at each other, and drug some toys through it to make tracks. That was enough to make them happy and enough for me to get some cute pictures! When their little cheeks began to turn pink...in we came! Then, they cuddled up on their bed to enjoy a movie...I brought them popcorn and drinks and they were happy little boys! Ahhhh....WE LOVE SNOW DAYS!!!!!

So, staying up late is no big deal to my boys! They are just like me! However, they do get excited to know that they are seeing a new year get here! This year, I made us some cool looking glasses a few minutes before midnight so we could wear them to ring in the new year! We just spent our New Year's Even at home with each other since Dana had to work as always! It may sound like a boring time, but there really is n o where I would rather be than at home with these cuties!
